A personal friend of Jean-Michel Basquiat and legendary stylist, Lysa Cooper, in an interview with LIFO, describes the era when art did not chase numbers, announces the prevalence of insignificance, blasts Trump and admits that she was simply there "when it was all happening, in the right place, at the right time".
"Many people don't understand how good an artist Basquiat really was. They don't understand his work. I think some people connect with it and some people don't, but many follow the fashion or whatever is 'trending' without understanding what they're looking at." Photo.
