Peggy Gallagher, the mother of Liam and Noel Gallagher, has disclosed that she was the catalyst behind the eagerly anticipated reunion of Oasis. The band is gearing up for their first performance since their split in 2009.

The iconic Manchester band will embark on their Live ’25 tour on 4 July at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, culminating on 23 November at the Estádio do Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil. As part of this tour, Oasis will also take the stage at Manchester’s Heaton Park and London’s Wembley Stadium, with a total of five shows.

In a conversation with the Irish Mail on Sunday, Peggy acknowledged her role in her sons’ decision to reunite: “I inspired it, yes. But wasn’t it bound to happen at some point?” she remarked. “Ultimately, it was their choice. You can’t make them do something they don’t want to.”

She expressed delight and anticipation at seeing her sons collaborate again after years of personal discord. “It’s wonderful, because no one wants their children to be at odds, do they?” she commented. However, she also admitted to feeling anxious about the upcoming concerts: “I’ll breathe a sigh of relief when it’s all over, as they make me quite nervous.”

Peggy also revealed her intentions to attend the Oasis concert in Dublin in August, provided her health allows it, as she is currently recuperating from knee surgery. “I aim to be at the Oasis concert in Dublin in August if I’m able to walk,” she stated. “That’s my plan… it’s going to be fantastic.”

Peggy continues to be a constant presence in her sons’ lives. She played a crucial role during their formative years when she extricated them from their abusive father, Tommy Gallagher.
