Trump has changed his mind on Iran: ‘No’ to regime change
"It will lead to chaos", the US president said today
U.S. President Donald Trump stated today that he does not wish for a “regime change” in Iran, a scenario he believes would result in chaos.
Speaking to reporters aboard the presidential aircraft on the way to The Hague for the NATO summit, Trump asserted that Iran would not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. He also mentioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin had reached out to him, offering assistance in dealing with Iran.
Interestingly, just yesterday, the US president had expressed support for the idea of regime change in the Islamic Republic.
Trump also mentioned his plans to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, during the Alliance summit.
